Circadian rhythm sleep disorder is a common sleep malfunction that is sparked by an interruption of the routine sleep patterns of the body. It is very common for people who work long nighttime hours and try to sleep during the day and can be a problem years after the schedule conflict is altered.

The circadian rhythm is a naturally occurring biological rhythm of the human body, and is evident in all creatures. Just as owls rouse at night and roosters in the morning, humans are subject to this as well. The rhythm actually affects many different elements of the human body such as temperature, heart rate, respirations, hormone secretions and mood. When this is altered, so are the natural tendencies to sleep and eat and often they are reversed.

Cures for Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorder

Sometimes this rhythm is disrupted because of choices like work or even jet lag and these will regulate within time. Other times, the rhythm is out of balance due to chemical imbalance sin the brain, genetics or other factors that can include illness or medication. These are harder to control and often take controlled scheduling and a critical environment of monitoring every pattern and habit of the human body. It can be both complicated and frustrating to fix. Even more difficult, is that often doctors may not be able to diagnose your sleep disorder properly and will treat for insomnia or anxiety with no avail. If you find you experience an increased wakeful state at night and would prefer to hide away during the day – you might suffer from this illness. It is advised to discuss it with your doctor.
