Children have active imaginations and often do not understand the complexities of the adult world. This can cause them to suffer from stress or emotional problems that lead to sleep disorders. Normally, children have trouble falling asleep, which can cause them anxiety and even affect their performance in school.
If your child has problems, set up a standard bedtime routine that is free of stimulation and allows plenty of time for peace and quiet before bed. Also, try to keep them active during the day, encouraging exercise and making sure that they expend their energies properly.
Children under the age of 10, require around 10 hours of sleep per night since they are growing. Bedtimes and waking times should be set so that the 10 hours is provided.

If you let them sleep in too late, they may not be tired at the appropriate time and will have trouble falling asleep and may develop sleep disorders issues, which will lead to anxiety.
Schedules are important. If your child consistently has trouble, you may want to try and talk to them or engage them in activities like journaling or music that will help them to relieve stress, voice their feelings and understand what is going on in their mind.
