Sleep is an arousable state of unconsciousness. When you are sleeping, you become more responsive to the internal stimuli going on in your brain and are less responsive to external stimuli. During the state of sleeping, you are generally not aware of your external surroundings.
There are about three general categories of sleep disorder treatments: sleeping pills, behavioral or psychological treatments or other types of treatments. There are also three definitions of sleep disorders: not being able to get enough sleep, awakening during sleep (fragmented sleep) or getting too much sleep.
